Take Action: Ask your members of Congress to support the IDEA Full Funding Act (H.R. 2902 / S. 2542), which would increase federal appropriations for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
Static federal appropriations for IDEA funding has forced states and school districts to seek alternative funding streams to support the education and services for students with disabilities. Congress must keep its promise to provide up to 40% of IDEA funding by restoring and then increasing funding for special education (e.g., IDEA state grants and programs). To address this issue, Congressman Jared Huffman (D-CA) and Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) introduced the bipartisan IDEA Full Funding Act (H.R. 2902 / S. 2542). Ask your members of Congress to support this important legislation to fully fund IDEA once and for all!
