In December 2021, Congress acted to partially mitigate Medicare Part B payments cuts to outpatient services provided by audiologists and speech-language pathologists (SLPs) that were set to take effect in 2022. However, Congress must reverse these cuts in their entirety and work toward a long-term solution to prevent persistent threats to Medicare reimbursement. Ask your federal representatives to fully address looming Medicare payment cuts to health care providers, including audiologists and SLPs, that will limit beneficiary access to critical hearing, balance, speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive care.
